Nothing says summer like watermelon. But what do you do with the watermelon shells after you’ve scooped out all of the yummy insides? Luckily, the FoodLifeHacks YouTube channel has come up with a brilliant idea.
The recipe is very easy. All you need is an empty watermelon, a spoon, dried tea leaves, hot water, and a serrated knife.
Start by scooping out the remaining insides with the if you haven’t eaten all of it it already. Then cut around the rim of the melon with the knife being careful not to cut yourself. Cut a triangle shape into the top and bottom half of the watermelon.
Then scoop out some dried tea leaves into the hollow watermelon. (You can also use tea bags too). Then pour the hot water over the tea leaves and wait a few minutes.
What you’re left with is a tea that’s infused with watermelon flavor and even comes with a cool container! You could serve it hot or dump some ice cubes in it and make it iced for your sunny beach day. Check out their channel for more food-themed genius.
