A Text To The Wrong Number Changes One Family’s Life

Man Responds To Wrong Number Text

A text to a wrong number changed this family’s life.

High school student Sydney Uselton was trying on formal dresses.  She texted a couple of pictures to a friend for feedback on the dress; however, she didn’t text a friend, she accidentally texted a Tennessee father of 6, Tony Wood.

When Wood received the text, he didn’t ignore it or simply respond to Uselton with the standard, “Wrong number.” Instead, he sent back a throughtful response.

“I believe this message was intended for someone else. My wife isn’t home, so I couldn’t get her opinion, but the kids and I think you look stunning in your dress! You should definitely go with that one,” Wood texted Uselton.

Wood then texted a picture of 5 of his 6 children giving Uselton a “thumbs up.”

Uselton’s friend shared the sweet text exchange on Twitter.

Shortly after the texts were Tweeted, they went viral.

In the comment thread, it was revealed that the missing Wood child,  Kaizler, was not pictured because he was at the hospital receiving treatment for leukemia.

Hello! Apparently you have made my children Twitter famous! My 2nd youngest (not pictured, he was at chemo clinic) has a FB page for his fight against Leukemia and one of our Prayer Warriors recognized the children! Btw, my wife agreed that the dress looked great! God Bless!

“Hello everyone! I’m sorry it took me so long to post an update, it took a bit to go through the process of getting access to the account! First and foremost, I wanted to thank everyone SO MUCH for their kindness and generosity. God continues to show us He is there for us and it is awesome to see His love move! With that said, we have more than TRIPLED our goal! Our needs to get back on our feet have been met! We can’t thank you enough, but any further donations are unnecessary! Again, we can’t thank you enough for all of the love and support you have shown our family! You have provided more than enough and we will be forever grateful to all of you! God bless and have a wonderful day!” a GoFundMe update states.
