South Carolina Mom Thought She Would Be Spending Mother’s Day Alone But Restaurant Workers Wouldn’t Let That Happen

A South Carolina mom thought she’d be spending Mother’s Day alone; however, once restaurant workers found out she was eating alone for Mother’s Day, they decided to do something special for her.

On Mother’s Day, Barbara Foy went to lunch by herself at Ruby Tuesday’s in Surfside Beach, South Carolina. Foy said that she decided to treat herself to a meal after she hadn’t received a call from her son for Mother’s Day. Foy said that she has not gotten a call from her mom for some time.

When the staff at Ruby Tuesday found out that Foy was spending Mother’s Day alone, they all pitched in to give her a Mother’s Day basket filled with goodies. In addition, they paid for her lunch! A customer overheard and bought Foy a rose!

“I really felt like I was queen for a day, mother for a day!” Foy said. “I’ve never been made to feel so special.”

Lauren Nave, Ruby Tuesday manager, said that the entire staff of Ruby Tuesday was moved by Foy’s story of spending Mother’s Day alone.

“I think we were almost in tears by the end of the story,” Nave said. “We wanted to make sure she knew how special she was on Mother’s Day.”

And they did! Great job, Ruby Tuesday’s!
