She Parked In A Veteran-Only Parking Spot Then Found This Note On Her Windshield

Jumping to conclusions is never a good thing–even when you think you’re doing what’s right. One person who was quick-to-judge learned this the hard way when they thought they were doing a “good deed” in a New Jersey parking lot.

When a woman returned to her parked car, she was shocked to find this note.

Little did the note-leaver realize that the woman actually was a veteran! Shortly after receiving the note, she posted this on Facebook.

She said it straight to the point, and commenters were not shy to leave their opinions.

But to much surprise, this story didn’t end on a sour note. The original note-writer came across Rebecca’s note and even offered her heartfelt apology.

wow

It read:

“To the lady whose car I left a note on-

I happened to come across your post on Facebook through a friend who shared your photo and status. I would like to apologize to you. I know it’s no excuse, but I’ve seen so many young people park in retired vets’ spaces along with handicap lately, and I lost my cool. I’m sorry you were the one who got the result of that angry moment. I know it was a mistake and I’m glad I saw your post. I immediately felt horrible about a situation-where I assumed I was standing up for someone. Clearly, this was not the case. You didn’t deserve that, and I hope you can accept this apology. I appreciate your service to this country and I highly respect military men and women. It was an error in judgment, and again I’m sorry for that. Thank you for all that you’ve done.

God Bless.”

Veterans are our heroes and they deserve our honor and respect. But heroes come in all shapes and sizes…and sometimes they aren’t obvious by a quick glance.

Some say there’s only one thing tougher than a man in the military — and that’s a woman in the military.

Thankfully, this situation was resolved soon after the post went viral on Facebook.

God bless our veterans!
