This Mushroom House Is One Of The Most Unique Homes Ever Built

Somewhere in the town of Perinton, New York, stands a house that’s unlike any we have seen before. The Mushroom House sold by Rich. Testa. Real Estate.

The home was designed by architect James Johnson and built by Peter Strong and William Ashton for attorney-artist couple Robert and Marguerite Antell in the early 1970’s. It was later designated as a town landmark in 1989.

Standing on 1.2 acres are four 80 ton pods which are supported by stems made of concrete and polyurethane. The stems vary in height from 14 to 20 feet.

Despite its construction taking so long ago and its unique properties, this house is fully equipped with the modern tools and appliances everyone needs. A break room with flat screen TV, a hot tub, master bedroom and 2 other bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, a garage that can hold 3 cars; it certainly has more than the average home.

The asking price for this fairy-tale-esque estate was originally 1.1 million dollars. After that price failed to attract buyers the price has since been reduced and is now at $629,900.
