College Student's Act of Kindness Towards Homeless Woman Goes Viral

A video featuring a Pittsburgh college student athlete’s act of kindness has gone viral.   

On February 25, 2018, Duquesne college basketball player Mike Lewis II tweeted a video of himeself delivering pizza and wings to a woman he noticed who had been living in her car.

“Noticed a lady living in her car the past week and did what I could, don’t just walk past people if you can help do so (prayer hands) #GodsPlan,” he tweeted.  

The 30-second video shows Lewis II, a sophomore guard, knocking on the window of the woman’s car.  The woman answers Lewis’ knock.  In the video, he can be hard saying, “I’m sorry to bother you.  I’ve noticed you have been out here all week…we got some food today, so I just wanted to give you a pizza and some wings…. I just wanted to give this to you.”  

The Tweet has now more than 2.5 million views and has been shared more than 7,000 times.  

The woman, bundled in her coat, accepts the pizza with a smile.

These days, it seems that there are few athlete role models.  Lewis II is definitely a role model young athletes can look up to.
