A heartwarming Facebook post from a police officer was recently shared online.
In it, the officer describes an encounter with an old lady at a grocery store. It was posted on the ‘Police Lives Matter’ Facebook page. Read it below.
I was in uniform at the grocery store picking up milk. My two children are ages six and nine and normally wake up right as I get home at 7:15am or so. They like to enjoy a hearty breakfast with me before they head out the door by 8 for school at 8:30am.
While I was contemplating whether or not to get 1% or 2% milk, a little old lady walked up to me and said “excuse me young man, could I trouble you for a hug” and of course I didn’t deny it. She thanked me for keeping her city safe. She handed me a small piece of paper that was folded in half and she told me not to open it until I got to my car.
Inside the folded paper was was a voucher for unlimited free hugs and coffee for all first responders and it listed her address at the local retirement home. I love my job.
This made my day and was worth passing on. Feel the same? Share this and subscribe for more heartwarming stories using the buttons below.
