A Trooper Pulled Over A Drunk Driver, Then Noticed A Baby In The Back. Here’s How He Responded.

When West Virginia state troopers pulled over a suspected drunk driver, they never anticipated what they’d discover.

Trooper D.C. Graham said that he pulled over the female driver who appeared to be drunk. But when he looked into her car, he was horrified by what he saw.

The car was filthy and smelled horrendous. The baby was suffering a cough, improperly restrained, wearing only a diaper and was covered in vomit.

Graham told CNN,

“I’ve been doing this for a while now and that was probably one of the worst things I’ve experienced, seeing a baby in that condition.”

The driver was arrested, and the baby boy was brought to police headquarters where they could clean and console him.

Graham explained,

“The baby was crying profusely. We tried everything. He was just so upset in the condition he was in. There was nothing we could do to get him to stop crying. I said, ‘I can’t let him sit in this.’”

As a father himself, Graham knew what to do. He drew a bath for the baby in a sink and scrubbed him up.

Within seconds, the baby was smiling ear-to-ear.

The baby’s smiles were contagious. Laughter and delight spread to the care-taking troopers.

Graham watched over the baby until CPS arrived.

He even gave the little boy a teddy bear to play with in the meantime.

His mother is facing DUI charges. But the little boy is now in the protective care of a legal guardian.
