Facebook user Kelli Tankersleyā€ˇ shread this heartwarming story online, about a police officer who went the extra mile to help her after everyone else turned her down:
“I was coming back home, to Singer, LA… When my tire light came on. I exited the Mauriceville exit, and stopped to put air in it and heard air pouring out of it just as fast as I was putting it in.
I texted my husband who was at work, and my mom to let them know I would be home later than expected. I tried to change it myself, I have Multiple Sclerosis, and fought with it for about 30 minutes.
Mom had just seen her phone where I had texted and she called several places where she had gotten rude responses of, ‘no we won’t change it but we will tow her.’ So she called the Vidor Police Department, and ask if they would check on me and help possibly! She then called and told me they were on the way, and within minutes a car pulled up.
Sgt. Smith with the Vidor Police Dept. was so very nice… Not only did he help, after he took my tire off, he ask me if I wanted him to take me into town to the tire shop and have it fixed rather than put on a donut. Well of course I said yes!
He took me to the tire shop where they double patched my tire. He then drove me back to my car and put my tire on my vehicle and put my spare back inside my trunk! Just the quick to and from the tire shop, I loved to hear the stories he shared. I am so thankful for the kindness that this man showed me. He went WAY out of his way to help me out!!!!!
Thank you Sgt. Smith! You are GREATLY appreciated.”
