This Commercial Is So Hypnotizing That It’ll Change In Front Of Your Eyes, And You Won’t Even Notice

Škoda Auto UK has come up with quite the clever commercial for their new car, the Fabia. They parked one in middle of an average looking street and describe the features on the car.

The narrator talks about the new vehicle as the screen blinks black, but you quickly get used to it and think nothing of it.

By the end of the commercial, however, you realize that you’ve completely fell in to their game and haven’t noticed the background rapidly changed. Your constant focus on the Fabia took your eyes off of everything else.

Rewind it again and you can see it happening in front of you. Effective commercial? I think so.

The reason this trick works is because the narrator’s main topic was the blue Fabia, which kept our attention on it, while subtle changes were being made as the screen was blinking. It’s a little trick known as “selective attention”.
