The Amazing Tribute A Group of Young Students Made To The American Flag

Over 8000 students gathered in Maryland to create a living version of the U.S. flag. It was the 100 year anniversary of the the Fort McHenry centennial celebration, where a large crowd gathered in 1914 to do the same thing.

CBS’s sky eye chopper was able to get a truly stunning aerial view of the celebration.

One of the most amazing stories was an attendee named Myrtle Sanders, who was also at the original celebration in 1914 as a newborn — 100 years earlier.

When asked about witnessing the celebration for a second time, she replied: “It was wonderful and inspiring and it was an honor to be here.”
