Over 8000 students gathered in Maryland to create a living version of the U.S. flag. It was the 100 year anniversary of the the Fort McHenry centennial celebration, where a large crowd gathered in 1914 to do the same thing.
One of the most amazing stories was an attendee named Myrtle Sanders, who was also at the original celebration in 1914 as a newborn — 100 years earlier.
When asked about witnessing the celebration for a second time, she replied: “It was wonderful and inspiring and it was an honor to be here.”
