The President addressed the country on his strategy “to destroy ISIL”, which include sending 450 non-combat troops in Iraq in order to support Iraqi forces with training and equipment. He also promised to hunt out ISIL member’s in neighboring states including Syria.
As expected the world quickly took to social media to respond. He had a fair amount of support after his speech:
But was not with out the backlash either, specifically pointing out his fight to get troops out of Iraq, only to send them back; and is “ISIL (Islamic State) is not Islamic” quote.
“If you threaten America, you will find no safe haven” was perhaps the strongest and most comforting quote to Americans, but some argue that it may be too little to late.
