Public speaking is a pretty big deal. In order to be considered a good public speaker you need to speak clearly and fluidly with charisma. That said, one would think it’d be obvious that public speaking and stuttering don’t mix well. Heck, it was said that the famous actor James Earl Jones had a stutter and was forced by his English teacher to speak publicly to rid him of the speech impediment.
However, reading some poems out-loud wouldn’t help in Drew Lynch’s case, whose stutter was cause by physical trauma. Don’t worry though, he found his own way to cope with and own it, stand up comedy.
As was mentioned before, one would think it’d be obvious that public speaking and stuttering don’t mix well, the key word being would. Drew Lynch certainly proved that wrong. I won’t give away how it went, but let’s just say he did a golden job.
It just goes to show that no matter what adversity or struggle you face in life, all you need to do is find a way to work with it, own it, and, in turn, make it work for you.
