After a lengthy investigation, US Army Sergeant Robert Bowe Bergdahl has been charged with desertion.
Bergdahl was released to the U.S. after the Obama administration agreed to swap five Taliban members for his return.

While the Obama administration and much of the liberal media saw the trade as a victory, many conservatives and military members, including some of the soldiers in Berghal’s former platoon, believed that trading five known terrorist for an accused deserter was a losing proposition.
Cody Full, a former soldier that fought alongside Bergdhal, told reporters:
“It’s not fair for guys that served honorably and didn’t desert, that go to college on the GI Bill or get their retirement and other benefits, for them to get it and him to get it as well.”
Many soldiers risked their lives in an attempt to locate the missing Bergdhal, several of which died during the searches.
Bergdahl is scheduled to stand trial in a military court in San Antonio, Texas, on the 22nd of April. If found guilty, he faces forfeiture of his military benefits and pay, as well as a possibility of life in prison.
