Most girls dream of their proposal and wedding day from as early as age 4. However, for Marcia Belyea, her proposal would be a little different than what she probably had in mind.
Marcia’s now-husband Ben Vienneau found out that a local radio station was having a contest for the craziest marriage proposals. The contest had a grand prize of $20,000 dollars and if for a newlywed couple that’s some serious cash.
Ben decided to propose to his future wife by getting her mock-arrested. Judging by the footage, everything was very covert. There was literally no way Marcia could have expected what happened next.
When Marcia was told to sit in the back of the patrol car, the officer told her that she faced a two thousand dollar fine and up to a month in jail. All seemed lost until Ben and the Officer came to the agreement that she’d be let go if she accepted his hand in marriage.
Marcia escaped the penal system by accepting the deal. Even though his proposal was a little much, Marcia was a good sport. Even if she was a little upset, she’ll probably get over it once she sees the rock that Ben puts on her finger.
The two were happily married several weeks later.
