New Study Reveals Why Your Parents Had It Right When It Came To Raising Kids

Alot of us remember the days when our parents made us do chores. Raking leaves, taking out the trash, and washing dishes seemed like the end of the world. However, once you move out you realize that the world is much harsher than cutting some grass.

Apparently, making kids do chores is not only easier on parents, but better for the kid’s development. According to a recent Wall Street Journal study, kids who start doing chores at young age are more likely to be successful.

This success showed in multiple areas, including academics, finances, and relationships. Despite this surprising data, less than thirty percent of parents actually tell their children to do chores even though they probably had to do them themselves growing up.

The reasoning behind today’s parents not telling their children to do chores is actually pretty smart. The parents insist that their children do things that have a more direct benefit for their future like after school clubs and study. But chores are a tried and true method of building up character and reducing entitlement.

Basically, if you want successful children you should tell them to put down their books and pick up a vacuum every once in a while.
