We hear a lot of tales about amazing canines used to aid or rehabilitate humans while most dogs are abandoned or taken down when they fall ill, like a race horse with a broken leg.
That wasn’t the case when this old husky’s legs suddenly stopped working.
This is Kane. His legs stopped working and he was too old for surgery, but his best friend and owner wouldn’t abandon him. Kane was in pain and the pain killers only did so much. His owner discovered that swimming relieves Kane’s pain since he’s weightless in the water and there’s no pressure on his legs.
After a few days of pool therapy, Kane was up and at’em with a little help.
The dedication and love this man shows for his dog is absolutely heartwarming. Though Kane is old and it’s likely he won’t be here for much longer, he’s very fortunate to have such a loving owner. You can really tell how much Kane loves him back by the way he looks at him.
