A German Woman Walked Up To Israelis Visiting Auschwitz, What She Did Brought Them To Tears

World War 2 was a trying time for everyone, but the suffering that the Jews endured at the hands of the Nazis was exceptionally terrible. They say that “time heals all wounds” and it’s true for the most part, as the Jewish people have recovered from the tragedy.

One German woman decided to make up for the mistakes of her ancestors in a truly touching way. A group of Israeli students were visiting auschwitz when a German mother stopped them. She claimed that she had a “yellow postcard from Germany.”

The woman said that her ancestors marked the Jews with yellow stars, so she would cover the stars with hearts as an expression of solidarity and empathy. The woman was also holding a rose in her other hand while her baby rested on her chest.

Acts of kindness like these show that the mistakes of the past can be forgiven. The students may not have been alive for WWII, but it’s obvious that the gesture touched them too.
