Auto Company Develops A Car For People In Wheelchairs

Wheelchair bound people value their independence just as much as anyone else. While there are special accommodations for wheelchairs in most places like handicapped stalls and ramps, there are still quite a few areas that are difficult or totally off limits to those of us who use wheelchairs.

One such area is cars. Normal cars require one working foot and two working arms to use, as well as certain height and limb length. People in wheelchairs don’t always meet these requirements, so they end up having to get rides from friends or stay at home.

Stacy Zoern is trying to fix this problem with her new line of Kenguru electric cars. The cars are spacious, run on electricity, and can actually move pretty quickly. The best part is that the cars operate by handlebars like motorcycles, so people with leg deformities can still use them.

Stacy also has another series of cars in the works once she gets more funding. The new series will be operated by joysticks, so even people with only one working limb can use them.
