At first glance, this may look like your average commercial plane, but there’s something a little different that sets it apart from the rest.
Boeing demonstrates their new Dreamliner model, the 787-9, as it prepares for the 2015 Paris Air Show. The thing that sets the 787-9 apart from other commercial planes is its ability to ascend at a near vertical angle and maneuver in the air unlike anything we’ve seen before.
CNN managed to get a hold of Boeing for more information. According to 767 pilot Patrick Smith, “Some of what you’re seeing on takeoff is a trick of perspective, It looks like the takeoff is at a near vertical 90 degree angle — trust me it’s not.”
He also mentioned that the plane was very light at the time and would most certainly not reach such intense angles while the weighed down by passengers and cargo.
