Here’s What Happened When These Chimps Were Released After 30 Years In A Cage

A group of unlucky chimpanzees spent 30 consecutive years locked up in cages like criminals. The worst part is, these chimps didn’t do anything to deserve it!

However, just when it seemed like they’d never get out, the cage door swings open thanks to the efforts of the Austrian animal sanctuary, Gut Aiderbichl.

When the group of 38 chimpanzees had their first taste of fresh air and blue skies, they were hesitant. A few of them actually looked terrified. However, when the boldest chimp of the bunch made the first step, the others quickly followed suit. They play, run, jump, and one pair even hugged each other!

The display is sure to change the mind of anyone who doesn’t think animals have emotions.

Animal cruelty like this is still as common as ever. But, thanks to the efforts of sanctuaries like Gut Aiderbichl, some animal cruelty stories can have happy endings.
