Dump truck driver, Gene Thomas Brandon, Jr., has been charged with the attempted murder of two Maryland Police officers after trying to run over them with his truck.
The officers were standing outside their cruisers in Prince George County, Maryland when the driver charged straight for them.
They were able to dodge the dump truck at the last moment, but their police cruisers where crushed as the dump plowed into them.
According to Maryland police, the driver suffers from mental illness and had not taken his medication for the day.
His motive for the attack was that he believed that his brother had been shot by the officers, which was completely false.
The 31-year-old driver was arrested and charged with two counts of attempted murder and two counts of first degree assault and is being held without bond.
