Muzzammil Hassan was sentenced to 25 years to life in prison after he was found guilty of beheading his wife back in 2009.
After just one hour of delibiration, the jury found the man from Buffalo, NY, guilty of the heinous crime.

According to District Attorney Paul Bonnanno “The defendant viciously killed … and desecrated [his wife’s] body because six days earlier she had dared to file for divorce,”
Hassan lured his wife, Aaisiya Hassan, back to the TV studio that they owned and stabbed her 40 times before beheading her when she threatened to divorce him.
According to his children, Hassan had a history of domestic abuse towards his wife. His defense, that he was acting in self-defense, did not hold any weight in court.
Muzzammil was the owner of Bridge TV, a television network created to fight against negative stereotypes against Muslims after 9/11.
