The Touching Reason A Dog Interrupted An Interview With An Army Veteran

The power of unconditional love can help you overcome any obstacle. For many veterans, that obstacle is Post Traumatic Stress Disorder.

Eric Scott is a veteran of the national guard and the lone survivor of his team. He suffers from survivor’s guilt and nightmares which wake him in a cold sweat. His doctor diagnosed him with PTSD and gave him medication to deal with but Eric claims they don’t help and promptly threw them away.

Through a program called Canines for Warriors, Eric was given a service dog named Gumbo to help him deal with his PTSD. You can see Gumbo’s work in action as he quickly senses when Eric is about to get worked up and gives him a few loving kisses.

It’s a new hope for Eric Scott and a critical one that offers healing. With the help of Gumbo the service dog, perhaps he can finally be rid of the demons that haunt him.
