Thousands Of Parents Are Rallying To Bring This Controversial Practice Back To School

Organized prayer in schools has been a hot topic in educational politics lately. Some people think it teaches kids morality, while other believe that it alienates children that are of other religious backgrounds.

In South Carolina, hundreds of concerned parents are rallying to have player places back in schools. The rallyers are unified under their organizer Pat Gibson-Hye Moore who says “Teach our kids the Ten Commandments, put morality back. We’ve just drifted away from everything that’s important.”

Moore was inspired to begin the committee when she was banned from praying out loud during school board meetings. She claims praying aloud is her “duty” which makes sense, as one of the most important tenets of christianity is spreading the word.

The group will hold more rallies this year. The movement is growing and Moore claims that there will be thousands in attendance eventually.

To be clear, praying in schools isn’t illegal. However, prayer that is organized by staff or other students has been declared as unconstitutional under separation of church and state. Do you think Moore and her party’s agenda is correct? If so, why, and if not, why not?
