Fire medic Jeff Rehman explains his technique in this YouTube clip. It’s a move he learned in his boxing days to strengthen his abdominal muscles, but works wonders in a critical moment.
If you are choking on food and your alone, just lie down on the floor in a push up position, push your arms forward and allow your chest and stomach to hit the force with a real impact. This repeated motion should be enough to dislodge just about anything that has gotten stuck.
This should really help and although it might be better to never have to use it – you’ll still always now know how to get rid of anything that you’re choking on without help.
