Pastor holds this sign on the side of the road, but never expected this to happen

It was another scorching hot Texas summer. Everyone knows to stay indoors when temperatures exceed well past the triple digit mark.

But the heat didn’t phase these two because they were on a mission.

Drivers zoomed past the two men on the side of the road. They thought these men must have lost their minds.

And upon reading the signs these two held, well, it only confirmed it.

Reader’s Digest shared this joke about an innocent mishap gone awry.

Here’s the joke.

A priest and a pastor are standing by the side of a road holding up a sign that reads “The end is near! Turn around now before it’s too late!”

A passing driver yells, “You guys are nuts!” and speeds past them. From around the curve, they hear screeching tires—then a big splash.

The priest turns to the pastor and says, “Do you think we should just put up a sign that says ‘Bridge Out’ instead?”

Well, that escalated quickly…

While the drivers were busy judging what they thought to be the truth, they missed the meaning of the warning all-together.

These two clergymen learned that there is definitely strength in words. Maybe next time they’ll re-think their phrasing.
