A Neurosurgeon Goes Into A Coma And Gets A Miraculous Revelation

Near-Death experiences and terminal illness can make you question your beliefs. For Dr. Eben Alexander, his experiences during his coma changed his outlook drastically.

One night, Dr. Alexander was rudely awoken by intense pain that he compares to “being hit by a freight train”. He assumed that it was just a muscle spasm at first, but it turned out to be much more deadly. Dr. Alexander had a case of bacterial meningitis that was quickly damaging his brain. By the time Dr. Alexander made it to the hospital, he was already in a full coma.

For his family. the situation looked bleak. Doctors told them that he had no brain activity, and they prepared themselves for the likelihood that he wouldn’t wake up.

For Dr. Alexander, the situation was much more bizarre. He remembers being told his purpose by a mysterious ethereal force in a “hyper real” afterlife world. The force spoke to him by telepathy, and reminded him of his value and purpose.

Dr. Alexander woke after 7 days of a complete coma. Shortly afterward, he made a quick and full recovery.

Before his coma, Dr. Alexander was an atheist. Now, he has a firm belief in god which inspired him to write the book “Proof of Heaven” about his experience.

While Dr. Alexander’s recovery was extremely fast, there always room for skepticism. Do you think that the doctor’s mind was playing tricks on him? Or do you think that an angelic figure helped Alexander through his trial? Let us know in the comments!
