North Carolina resident Cher Lair was the happy and proud mother of six boys. Being the only woman in a house of testosterone can have its benefits, but it can also be lonely. There’s something special about mommy-daughter time that Cher didn’t want to miss out on.
Cher had been hoping for a girl for quite some time. She says “on baby three and four, I’m thinking, there’ll be a girl at some point. They can’t all be boys.” But after getting seven children deep, she realizes that “yes they can”.
Cher and her husband let their friend Andrea Silvey know the details of the seventh baby’s gender before they did. Andrea colored the inside of a cake (pink for girl and blue for boy) for the big gender reveal to the whole family.
When Cher cut into the cake, the tension was insane. She was visibly shaking and her husband looked quite nervous too. It looked more like they just wanted to rip the cake in half to find out rather than cut a slice.When Cher finally peeked at the color inside the cake, it was pink.
She lost it. The outburst was loud and joyful and she could barely keep it together. She finally got to have her very own baby girl!
