A lot of animals may be stronger and faster than us, but we have something that most of them lack; traction.
Place a deer in a polished hardwood floor and you’d get the same results as you would if it were on ice; they won’t be going far.
Similarly, two deer were stuck on the ice in the Albert Lea Lake, Minnesota. There’s no telling how they even got out there, but one thing was for sure, they couldn’t get back. Their attempts to walk on the ice resulted in slipping and sliding.
One young man saw a post about the deer on Facebook and called up his dad. The two got their hovercraft and set out for a rescue mission.
They reached the two deer and fastened a rope around their front legs. With the hovercraft they dragged the deer back to shore. The deer still had some problems getting to solid grounds, but they eventually made it.
The father-son-duo saved three deer that day.
