Every fishing hobbyist dreams of pulling a gigantic, thrashing, newsworthy fish out of the water when they put their fishing line out. But most of the time, they get runts, or nothing at all. But that didn’t keep this happy fishing couple from trying, and their perseverance paid off
Apparently, the couple in the video casted their line into the shallow surf of the beach. Ordinarily, all you’d catch in the beach surf is some shellfish and other smaller wildlife. But this couple managed to catch something huge.
At the end of their fishing line was a 300 lb grouper that was giving them quite a fight. According to the video, they were fighting with the fish for around an hour, which drew quite a crowd.
When the finally caught the fish and dragged it out of the water, onlookers were looking forward to a fish fry. But the couple refused to kill it. They took a few pictures and sent the unhappy fish on its way.
It’s a good thing they did too, as a grouper that size could create thousands more groupers if it managed to spawn.
