It Looks Like A Rotting Tree, But On Closer Inspection…Mind Blowing.

Chinese Artist Zheng Chunhui has created a fully three dimensional carving of the painting “along the river during the Qingming festival”. The carving is ten feet tall and over forty feet long, which has earned it a place in the Guinness book of world records.

The original painting was by a man who lived over 1,000 years ago named Zhang Zeduan. The original work depicts the daily life of the people during his time. The work showcases over 800 individual citizens going about daily activities along the many roads and alleyways

The carving by Chunhui features about 500 people with just as much detail as the original. The video of the carving is definitely worth seeing. The visual itself is impressive, but remember that every single carved person could’ve taken hours to do.

The carving is currently located at the Palace Museum in Beijing. Be sure to check it out if you ever visit China!
