Because of how much we use our eyes, it’s important to get regular eye exams from your optometrist. However, if you haven’t been to the doctor in a while, this video can give you a rough estimate on how good your eyes are.
The experiment is based around a hybrid image. Up close, it looks like a photo of Albert Einstein, but take a few steps away and you’ll see Marilyn Monroe.
If you saw Marilyn while sitting in front of your computer (or mobile device) then you might want to get your eyes checked out.
The trick works because it’s really two images in one. The low spatial frequency image (Marilyn) is combined with a high spatial frequency image (Albert) and the worse your eyes are at focusing and picking out contrast, the more obvious the low spatial frequency image will be.
