A new video showing an inventive recipe for microwave popcorn is making the rounds across the internet.
The recipe calls for 1/3 cup of popcorn, 1 Tsp of olive oil, 1/2 Tsp of salt. The recipe also can add an optional 1 Tbs of sugar in order to make kettle corn.
The directions are to pour the olive oil on the popcorn and allow it to soak in for a moment. The next step is to oiled kernels in ca brown paper bag. Then dump the salt and optional sugar in the bag as well. Fold the top of the paper bag down twice, so it is well creased and won’t unfold.
Then you put the bag on top of a paper towel in the microwave and cook for two and a half minutes. The video reminds microwave chefs that each microwave is different, so the timing may have to be adjusted. When the popping slows to about 2 or 3 seconds between pops, take the bag out of the microwave. Last, shake the bag to make sure everything is well spread and allow it to cool.
If the instructions are followed it is a quick and easy way to make fresh and delicious popcorn or kettle-corn.
