If you think you’ve heard it all when it comes to music, prepare to be doubly surprised.
German singer Anna Marie Hefele has a talent that may not necessarily be new, but certainly isn’t well know and very difficult to achieve. That talent is know as polyphonic overture singing. Poly means multiple and phonic is anything correlating with making sound, so to put it simply, she can sing 2 notes at a time.
Not only can she sing 2 notes at a time, she can also control to beat of each tone individually, acting as her own harmony and melody. She can achieve this sound by manipulating the resonant cavities of her mouth.
Some people may see this as a useless talent, but I like to think it will garner attention and create a revolution in the music industry. Imagine it, an opera where each singer has 2 parts.
