Witnesses Shocked When A Giant Alligator Strolls Across The Golf Course In Florida

Unless you’re playing mini golf, I don’t believe there’s supposed to be a gator on the 7th hole.

A group of golfers were enjoying a game when they happened across this gator on the 7th hole. Instead of playing through, they decided to give the creature space, but still get close enough to take pictures.

If you couldn’t guess by the image of an alligator on a golf course, this photo was taken in Florida. More specifically, the Myakka Pines Golf Club in Sarasota County.

The golf club posted the picture on Facebook where it received a lot of attention in a short amount of time, more 300,000 likes in just 5 days on top of 4,000 shares.

In an interview with TheBlaze, the golf course’s general manager, Mickie Zada, said the alligators are a pretty common occurrence and “They usually move when the golfers approach.” She also warns golfers to forget about their ball if it fell in the water.

Believe it or not, they used to have a much larger gator roam around, which they named “Big George”. According to Zada, “He’s no longer at the club. We assume he passed due to old age.”
