Garth Brooks Stops Concert To Give An Inspiring Speech To A Fan With Cancer

There isn’t much that can get a musician to stop in the middle of his/her performance. Like with acting, the show much go on. But, there are always a few exceptions here and there.

Garth Brooks made that exception for one special fan at a recent concert.

Brooks was performing in Minneapolis, Minnesota, singing his famous song, ‘The Dance’, when a certain sign caught his attention. The sign said, “Chemo this morning, Garth tonight, enjoying ‘The Dance'”.

The sign was held by cancer patient Theresa Shaw.

Shaw came all the way from Iowa with her 19-year-old daughter to listen to Brooks sing as a little break from her cancer treatment.

Shaw asked one of the ushers if she could get a little closer to the stage, hoping Brooks would see the sign and give her his signature. She received something much better.

Brooks saw the sign, stopped his show and gave Shaw his guitar. He took the sign back on stage and Shaw something that can’t be taken for granted. A speech in her honor and some powerful words of encouragement.
