Lt. Paul Carroll has been overseas in Afghanistan for over 6 months. He returns home to South Carolina just in time to give his son, Josh, an eighth grader at Lead Academy, the surprise of his life.
Josh had no clue about his father’s return, he was told by his mother he won’t be seeing his dad for another three weeks. To Josh, this was just another end of the 9 weeks ceremony.
The final award was for service to the country. Josh and his mom was called up in front of the entire school. That’s when you can see the look of utter shock on Josh’s face as his father enters the room.
Bawling, he immediately bolts to his father who greeted him with open arms. “I love you, Dad.” “I love you too, son.” A heartwarming moment you can watch over and over again.
