One morning, a Florida man named Jeff Markin was driving to work as usual, when he was suddenly struck by a sickly feeling. Jeff called his boss, who told Jeff to go to the E.R. Jeff doesn’t remember much after this point, as he blacked out and collapsed on the emergency room floor shortly after entering.
Hospital staff reacted quickly by summoning Chauncey Crandall, the resident cardiologist, to the scene. The team worked on Jeff for over 30 minutes and defibrillated him over ten times.
Unfortunately, they lost Jeff and Crandall had to call his time of death. A few minutes after Crandall pronounced Jeff dead, he heard a voice telling him to go back to Jeff. What happened afterward was nothing short of a miracle. Doctor Crandall defibrillated Jeff one last time, and his heart beat returned in full force!
