Movies like Jaws have given us the impression that sharks are vicious, man-eating apex predators that would like nothing more than to rip people apart. This video shows that this couldn’t be further from the truth.
Most small are non-aggressive to the point of running away from us in the wild. But even bigger sharks like great whites aren’t interested in people. Statistics show that there have been under 3,000 confirmed shark attacks worldwide since the late 1,500’s and only 548 of those were fatal.
In the video, an aquarium cleaner gets in the shark tank to clean it. The sharks are still inside the tank with him, and one of them seems very inquisitive. When the shark swims up to him, you might think that it’s looking for a quick snack. But the shark isn’t actually interested in having the tank cleaner for lunch.
The shark only wanted a belly rub!
