Couple Finds A Piece Of History Hidden In The Walls Of Their Summer Home

When Bill and his wife Sharon decided to do a little bit of renovation in their backyard, they had no idea they’d come across something as interesting as they did.

There was an old structure in the yard that they had known about for years. But neither of them knew what it truly was until their construction crew started tearing away pieces of the structure according to The Blaze.

On the outside, it looked like a small family home. But once the whole thing was exposed they found out that it was actually a trolley car that was converted into a single family home!

Trolley cars were very popular at one point of American history, but once they were surpassed by automobiles and trains there were a surplus of perfectly usable cars just sitting around.

Instead of letting them go to waste, people refurbished them and put them to use as brand new homes.

Some research showed that there was a couple by the name of Florence and Bill Haberkamp that lived in the car over 50 years ago. The car itself might have been operational in the early 1900s.

The trolley would be expensive to preserve and keep, so the couple is looking into giving it away. However, They both say that they’d like to see it preserved. They’ll probably have no trouble giving it to a museum.
