Emotions ran high as country singer Miranda Lambert performed at The American Bank Corpus Cristi, Texas,on September 13, 2014. As she was singing, a 7 year old girl, Brooke Hester, caught her attention with some gifts. The little girl wore a pink cowboy hat and a face mask to protect her from germs. She’s been diagnosed with Stage IV Neuroblastoma Cancer since 2010.
After receiving flowers and a gift, the singer stayed with the girl and held her hand, as fans hollered and cheered for the two. She tried to carry on with the song but was too choked up with emotions, relying on her fans to finish it for her. “Over you” was a song written by her and her husband Blake after the death of Blake’s brother so it’s always been an emotional song for her.
