Police Officer Stops Mom, But Instead Of Giving Her A Ticket He Goes Shopping

A police officer in Michigan pulled over a mother because her 5-year-old daughter was not in a booster seat. He could have gone with protocol and given the mother a ticket, but he decided on something else.

Officer Ben Hall got a call from dispatch describing a car with a little girl who didn’t have a booster seat. Shortly after he received the call, the car drove passed him. He catches up tot he car and pulls them over, explaining to the women why they’re being pulled over.

But Officer Ben Hall is an empathetic man, so when he heard Alexis DeLorenzo explain why she didn’t have a booster seat for her child he knew what had to be done.

The officer took DeLorenzo and her daughter to Walmart to pick out a new booster, paid out of his pocket.

Her daughter picked out the seat she liked and Hall spent, according to him, the best 50 dollars of his life. Photos of the event were taken by a Walmart employee who was inspired by the officer’s kind gesture. His simple act of kindness quickly went viral and gained a lot of attention from the press.

When asked why he helped the mother instead of writing her a ticket he said, ” To change even a little bit of this family’s life. I felt I was in that position to do it and I went ahead and did what I did.”
