Scientists Were Baffled When They Captured A Catfish Climbing A Wall

When you see a cat climbing a wall, that calls for no alarm, that’s completely normal, cats climb stuff every day. Fish, on the other hand, if you see a fish climbing a wall then you might want to have a chat with the ghosts of Charles Darwin and Carl Sagan for a little explanation.

A team of researchers in Ecuador were conducting a study earlier in the year cataloging all of the wildlife that lives in a cave near Tena in the Napo District.

While cataloging, they discovered something they weren’t expecting: a cat fish scaling a waterfall.

According to the researchers, the catfish were climbing the wall in search of food. There’s no telling what this means scientifically, yet, but it’s very possible this could be the next step in the catfish’s evolution.
