A Bullied Girl Nervously Walks On Stage, But When She Opens Her Mouth It’ll Give You Chills

Not long after screenwriter Graham Moore took the stage of the 87th Academy Awards to graciously accept his award, highlighting his trouble with bullies and contemplation of suicide, opera prodigy Lucy Kay took the stage of Britain’s Got Talent to tell a similar tale about being bullied.

Lucy, like Graham, was bullied for being different – for being an outsider. She moved to Nottingham in the UK as a child, and quickly became the target of physical and verbal abuse.

But she silenced all her critics before the world, telling Simon Cowel about her experiences before stunning the audience with a beautiful rendition of Puccini’s Vissi d’arte.

It’s a reminder to all out there who are truly talented to not let the world bring you down. And to all the bullies out there – be careful who you pick on today because they might just wind up an Academy Award winner or national opera singer tomorrow.
