Navigating ice is very tricky even if you know what you’re doing. If you use a vehicle with wheels and an engine, you run the risk of cracking the ice due to weight. If you use a sled, you have to worry about managing upwards of 20 dogs.
These ice fisherman have found a unique and genius way to navigate ice quickly and simply that doesn’t involve carrying pounds and pounds of kibble. They managed to make an ice boat that travels by sawing into the ice.
The design is pretty straightforward on the surface. They took a small boat and attached a saw blade on the back. The sawblade is powered by a engine on the back of the boat. The whole setup is similar to a motorboat. Only instead of water, it’s designed to power across ice.
These guys are really onto something here. It’s only a matter of time until ice fisherman worldwide are using these!
