Humans are not the only animals that show affection. Wild tigers purr, gorillas and chimps hug, and apparently seals kiss! A scientist by the name of William Link with the U.S. Geo Survey was studying Weddell seals in Antarctica when he caught a rare and intimate moment between a Weddell seal mother and her pup.
In the photo, the two Weddell seals were cuddling when the pup kissed his mother on the cheek just like a human baby! The mother’s eyes were closed in complete relaxation, while the pup’s eyes were wide open. The photo has only been on the net for a few days. However, the internet community clearly can’t resist cute things, as the photo has been liked, shared, and reposted thousands of times.
The photo shows that human families are not the only ones that form strong bonds. All it takes is a quick glance at the photo to know that the two truly love being with one another.
