We’re all used to cats and dogs as the go-to house pet for, obvious reasons, but one man, Christopher Choate, has something a little different. A skunk.
Although the Native Americans owned domestic skunks to kill off rodents, they are not a commonly domesticated animal these days. So Christopher decided to share a clip of his pet skunk with the world and it quickly went viral, garnering nearly 400,000 views in just a few days.
Choate is also quite the experienced skunk owner, with Fiora (his current skunk) being the third one he has owned.
According to him, they are playful and full of energy, and can respond to their names. He also says [they are]:
“low shedding, no allergenic, litter box trainable, absolutely loving animal and their the best lap pets known to man. Haha. When I found out you could take out her scent glands when she was a kit, I decided I would give them a shot. Fifi is my third skunk.”
After seeing her in action, we’re surprised that more people don’t have them as pets.
