Parrots are highly social creatures with a variety of calls when amongst one another in the wild. Their mouths are so highly developed that they can mimic human speech! When they are domesticated, they put this ability to use in hilarious fashion.
This video of a parrot laughing has got to be one of the funniest we’ve ever seen. It raises so many questions. Who taught him to do this? Is there someone in the house that laughs like that often? What is the parrot really trying to say? And most importantly, what is his devious plot?
Scientists don’t quite know whether parrots understand the words they’re saying or whether they are just mimicking human “calls” to try and communicate with us in the same way a cat or dog does.
The YouTube video is spreading like wildfire and has gotten almost 2 million views in under 3 weeks. Hopefully there’ll be an even funnier follow up soon!
