Flight attendants have a pretty serious job. Their official job description is to “ensure the comfort and safety of passengers” that ride their airlines, but it’s usually more complicated than bringing people peanuts and cushions.
They can end babysitting during the flight, calming down passengers that have panic attacks, and a whole lot more. There are a ton of benefits too, like free international travel and a really posh wardrobe!
This video shows some of the outfits worn by stewardesses from the 1970s to now. Some of them are sleek and professional, and others could easily be turned into a nightclub outfit with some adjustments (the one at 0:10 for example).
Overall, these outfits manage have an air of professionalism without being drab and bland. The uniform at 0:12 manages to be positively avant garde. If all jobs had uniforms like these, we doubt there would be many complaints.
